File This Under More Stupid Crap O'Reilly Says...

"Listen, citizens of San Francisco, if you vote against military recruiting, you're not going to get another nickel in federal funds. Fine. You want to be your own country? Go right ahead," O'Reilly said, according to a transcript and audio posted by liberal media watchdog group Media Matters for America, and by the San Francisco Chronicle.
"And if al-Qaida comes in here and blows you up, we're not going to do anything about it. We're going to say, look, every other place in America is off limits to you, except San Francisco. You want to blow up the Coit Tower? Go ahead,"
"Why should the rest of the country protect your butt, with all due respect, OK, when it comes to the war on terror, if San Francisco is going to thumb your nose and give the big digit to the military? Why should ... why should we protect you from al-Qaida and terrorists if you're going to disrespect the military, by passing this ... even though it's symbolic ... this resolution?"

Yes, America, it your favorite right-winged, Faux-infused, Ann Coulter loving Bill O'Reilly. This was said on his radio show, not his Faux News show "The O'Reilly Factor".
I do not think that schools should have a military recruiter at the school day in and day out giving our kids the "don't make your parents pay for college" or the "fatigues are in" speech to a bunch of 18 year olds. Recruitment is at an all time historic low and they are forcing themselves upon kids at the mall, at schools, at restaurants and local hangouts.
Plus, no disrespect, cause you know I love gay guys...(Jeff Gannon you crazy bastard).... But I don't think San Fransisco is the place to get your bounty of military recruits. (I am not saying everyone in S.F. is gay)
Maybe if the military gave better hair cuts, issued form-fitting fatigues and swank boots then maybe endorced Queer Eye for the Enlisted Guy.....things could change.

I'll give credit to O'Reilly for his premise but his articulation of that premise was somewhat - goofy.
Still, if San Fran doesn't want to contribute to the defense of this nation then I see no reason to come to their aid either. Let Mayor Gavin Newsom come to their aid next time an earthquake hits.

The armed services are not just about killing and breaking things. They provide hi-tech job training and college funding for new recruits. To serve is an honor we should all respect.

The funny thing about all hoopla this is that the armed services are a voluntary force. No one is forcing anybody to join. But San Fran'rs just wanted to make a stupid political statement that the rest of us laughed at - meaning right thinking individuals.

His comments were stupid and typical. As is he. The SF bill wasn't to disallow recruitment on campus but to provide funding for alternate recruitment into colleges... so there goes the 'lets throw out Federal Funding' idea. If O'Reilly is so big on going in the military, why is it he didn't enlist?

I agree with Bill. These fuit cakes who constantly slam the military and "vote" against us deserve everything they get.
