Stem Cells vs. The Veto

Tony Snow said today that the President thinks "murder is wrong". How can you murder something that isn't exactly alive?
Webster defines "Life" as:
The property or quality that distinguishes living organisms from dead organisms and inanimate matter, manifested in functions such as metabolism, growth, reproduction, and response to stimuli or adaptation to the environment originating from within the organism.
Frozen embryos are inanimate. They do not respond to stimuli, adapt, grow or reproduce. They aren't alive.
Does the President, as Snow Job indicates, think that the destruction of frozen embryos at fertility clinics is murder? Should fertility doctors be prosecuted for destruction of these frozen embryos? Are the parents of these frozen embryos subject to criminal charges when they choose not to implant all their frozen embryos?

Republicans should embrace stem cell reseach. Maybe a scientist will find identify a gene that can cure Stupidity.
A veto of this bill is a slap in the face of every person suffering from Cancer, Alzheimers, Parkinson's, Paralysis, and other dibilitating diseases.

Bush's Foreign Policy

It has occurred to me that Bush's foreign policy was plucked right from a Dixie Chick's song...
"Praise the Lord, and pass the ammunition."

I think that Bob Schieffer summed it up pretty good this morning with a little ditty.
"A frog and a scorpion are trying to get somewhere by crossing a pond. The scorpion knows the way and the frog agrees to carry him on his back.
When they get to the middle of the pond the scorpion stings the frog on the back. While they are both sinking in the water, the frog with his dying breath says "why did you do that" and the scorpion answers "because this is the middle east"."
It makes sense when you calculate that NOTHING in the middle east makes sense.
It is scary when you can't get a clear concise answer from our government on how we are going to get Americans out, when Europeans have already left. Our Secretary of State still is clamoring on Iran and is paying attention to the "violence" with and "hour by hour" update.
Violence? This is more than violence. This is all out hell and our Middle East policies have fueled it.
God forgive these arrogant sycophants that no not what they do.

End of the World--threat level is...??

As WWIII: Armageddon is commencing in the Middle East, I think it is time we remind ourselves that the Threat Level hasn't raised one bit.
I have yet to see one little "Don't worry we are still at yellow" cross the bottom of CNN in a long time.
What happened to the gay little rainbow chart ? Because right now I am pretty sure it is at "Shit your Pants".

Tony Snow has caught Bush's Stupid

It appears that stupidity is in fact, infectious at the White House.

Tony Snow:
It’s Important Israel Tries To “Limit As Much As Possible The So-Called Collateral Damage, Not Only On Civilians But Also On Human Lives”…

"The Manager at Tractor Supply said it would work"...Border Security.

(From Thinkprogress)
Rep. King Designs Electrified Fence For Southern Border: ‘We Do This With Livestock All The Time’
Rep. Steve King (R-IA) went on the House floor on Tuesday to discuss a fence that he “designed” for the southern boarder. (King constructed a model of the fence as he was speaking.) King’s design features a wire electrified “with the kind of current that would not kill somebody.” King noted that “we do this with livestock all the time.” Watch it

Good lord. Everyday these people do something that "shocks" me! I guess this is Compassionate Conservatism?
Wonder how much spray paint it is going to take to cover the intire Mexican side of this concrete fortress with "Vete a tomar por culo George Bush!".....maybe it would be worth it for that....

Rove booed by Latinos.....Ole!!

From Huffingtonpost.com

Rove Booed at Latino Conference:
White House political strategist Karl Rove touted "shared values" of faith and family and reiterated President Bush's support of broad immigration reform in a Los Angeles address Tuesday to one of the nation's largest Latino civil rights organizations.
In a lunchtime talk at the National Council of La Raza's annual conference, the Republican advisor outlined Bush's plan for stronger border security, workplace enforcement, a guest worker program and earned legalization for undocumented immigrants.

Gawd, I am still laughing!!!!!!

The President is always right....

Justice Department Lawyer To Congress: ‘The President Is Always Right’
The Senate Judiciary Committee yesterday heard testimony from Steven Bradbury, head of the Justice Department’s office of legal counsel. When questioned by Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VT) on whether the President’s interpretation of the Hamdan case was right or wrong, Bradbury replied, “The President is always right.” Watch it:
LEAHY: The president has said very specifically, and he’s said it to our European allies, he’s waiting for the Supreme Court decision to tell him whether or not he was supposed to close Guantanamo or not. After, he said it upheld his position on Guantanamo, and in fact it said neither. Where did he get that impression? The President’s not a lawyer, you are, the Justice Department advised him. Did you give him such a cockamamie idea or what?
BRADBURY: Well, I try not to give anybody cockamamie ideas.
LEAHY: Well, where’d he get the idea?
BRADBURY: The Hamdan decision, senator, does implicitly recognize we’re in a war, that the President’s war powers were triggered by the attacks on the country, and that law of war paradigm applies. That’s what the whole case —
LEAHY: I don’t think the President was talking about the nuances of the law of war paradigm, he was saying this was going to tell him that he could keep Guantanamo open or not, after it said he could.
BRADBURY: Well, it’s not —
LEAHY: Was the President right or was he wrong?
BRABURY: It’s under the law of war –
LEAHY: Was the President right or was he wrong?
BRADBURY: The President is always right.

That last statement, "The President is always right." scares me to death.
I need to get Rush to get me some Oxy cause my head hurts so much. I am in actually physical pain from beating my head up against the wall!!!
If the President is always right that explains why he can't admit any wrong doing. Now I get it. I thought he was just an arrogant prick who is completely oblivious to everything around him. I thought he was a sociopath with a major God complex.
Good lord.......
These are the idiots in control people....
Can you actually hear the Constitution crumbling???
QUICK!!! Maybe Nicolas Cage can steal it before the Republicans rip it to shreds....

Rove got a Raise????

Remember the good old days when the President said if "ANYONE" in his administration participated in the outing of a covert CIA operative, they would be "FIRED"?? Now that it has been proven Karl "zieg heil" Rove did in fact participate in the outing of Valerie Plame, why isn't he collecting unemployment?
Not only is Mr. Rove still employed by your tax dollars and mine, he got a raise for the increased cost of living....
The President doesn't think that people living on minimum wage need a raise for the increased cost of living, but Karl Rove does. Maybe that is how the president rewards his little army. He gives them raises, a hearty pat on the back, a "your doing a heckuva job", and if they are lucky a midnight visit from Gannon.

Adam Corolla shuts up Ann Coulter....

Oh praise Baby Jesus and pass me the Parrot Bay.....

Randi Rhodes can't say it......but I can...

Tony Snow is a dick. There, I said it for you Randi.
Helen Thomas (a REAL journalist/reporter) asked Snow-Job why the US is looking the other way when yesterday India tested nukes. He blew her off basically and said their "neighbors aren't concerned".
Um fast forward to today when 8 fucking bombs when off in India killing 145+ people.
Not only are their neighbors concerned Snow-Job...they are taking action.
What is the United States doing about it? That is what Helen Thomas was asking....
and we are still waiting for an answer.

Elizabeth needs to pull a "Starr Jones"

Okay. I don't normally watch The View. Without Joy Behar it wouldn't be worth watching at all. It is kinda like a bad car accident, you just can't turn away. In this show's case...you have to watch to see if Elizabeth is going to say anything stupid. It usually doesn't take long.....
Well, today I hit the jackpot. I turned it over while Barbara was talking about going to White House for a dinner celebrating Eunice Shriver's b-day and the Special Olympics. Barbara mentioned that Bush liked to ride his mountain bike out in front and listen to his Ipod so he is oblivious to the secret service, etc. that have to accompany him on his outings. I was just waiting for Joy to pick up on that and make and joke...and of course she did.
Well, Barbara said that Bush doesn't have the Dixie Chicks on his Ipod. Elizabeth being the lemming for the Right as she is said "neither do I...Traitors".
Yes. Elizabeth called the Chicks "TRAITORS".
Wonder if Elizabeth knows what SLANDER is, cause she sure doesn't know what Traitor is.
If someone publicly called me a traitor (which means someone who committed treason....Which is a felony and an offense punishable by DEATH) I would sue their ass. That is like calling someone a "Rapist" or "Murderer".
Here lately the Right has been throwing around "traitor" like it is an adjective for anyone with a non-republican perspective..
NEWSFLASH!!!! Just because someone doesn't agree with this corrupt administration or their unsubstantiated war, does not make them a traitor.
What are you, Elizabeth? A Loyalist? or a Patriot?
She would probably answer..."um, I'm a Redskin!!" And being a Dallas Cowboy fan who would sell my ovaries for one night with Troy Aikman...that makes her even more unbearable!!!!!

I'm becoming a Pirate.

I saw Pirates of the Carribean, Dead Man's Chest last night. And I have to say that when Capt. Jack Sparrow came out of that adrift coffin, I fell in love and nearly choked on my Junior Mints.
Johnny Depp is damn near perfect. He is amazing as Capt. Jack Sparrow. He must have studied Keith Richards in order to get that drunken stammer and swagger down just right. But sexy.... OMIGAWD!
This woman in the row in front of me kept saying "he is so hot!"
I have decided that if Pirates look like Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom, that maybe I am in for a career change.
Arrr....

All Dogs Go To Heaven...or Tahiti....

When I heard that Ken Lay was going to be cremated I felt all warm and fuzzy on the inside. I felt all warm and fuzzy cause I pictured him on a beach in Mexico or Tahiti just kicking back with a couple of MaiTais and some tanned senioritas.
Do all dogs go to Heaven? If you believe in the Christian theory that if you ask Jesus into your heart, then you are saved and you get the Golden Ticket into the Chocolate Factory. If you are one of those rich dogs that can fake your own death and get cremated to hide the evidence, then you go to a foreign country with a "no extradition" policy and live your years with your tosies in the sand.

Mr. Lay (may he RIP...or whatever) was a devout Christian...you know, the same way Tom DeLay is a devout Christian. My favorite pulpit lunatic, Pat Robertson, does not condone cremation, nor do 'serious' evangelical Christians. I just find it hard to believe that his 'last wishes' were to be cremated. Just wondering if he had a burial policy or a plot that he had previously bought which would indicate he wanted to be buried.
Let me tell you a little story. About 5 years ago, my father-in-law passed away. We weren't allowed at the funeral by my husband's stepmother, and he was cremated. My husband and his father had a very non-existant relationship due to this stepmother. About 6 months after my father-in-law 'died', I began getting phone calls from credit card companies. Lots of credit card companies. Seems like f-i-l, stole my husband's credit and had been using it for the past almost 18 years. But when he died, so did the prompt payments. So, like any credit card company would do, they searched the SS# and found my husband. After we put two and two together, we were devastaed. Then, we found out that f-i-l, was in trouble with just more than a few credit card companies, he was the CFO of the Rite-Aid Corporation during the time they were perpetrating the largest corporate "cook the books" fraud in US history at that time. (This was pre-Enron, but just by a couple of months)
So, his dad ripped him off, was about to be seriously indicted for corporate fraud, died and got cremated without anyone seeing a body.....
I'm not saying that Doug (father in law) faked his death, nor am I saying Mr. Lay did...
I'm just saying......

The Decider and the King....

Did you see The Decider on Larry King last night?

"I've been popular before, as president," Mr. Bush said tightly. "And I've been — people have accepted what I've been doing." He added: "Sometimes things go up and down. The best way to lead and the best way to solve problems is to focus on a set of principles. And do what you think is right."

Is it just me or is he the most arrogant person on the planet? It was like he was going to say, "And I've been UNPOPULAR", but he just couldn't put those words together. That would be admitting he was wrong, or the people don't like him, etc. But since he is a flippin' sociopath, he can't do it!!!

(You know sociopaths can't admit they are wrong or are unpopular.)

Heartless Ken Lay dead from Heart attack...

So, Ken Lay died today.
I really don't care........
But the story is How will Bush handle it?
Does he distance himself from this convicted felon/"good friend"/ pioneering campaign contributor?
Or does he tuck it between his leg like the dirty damn dog he is and sweep it under the rug to avoid connection to this politically damaging situation?
I am sure he will do the right thing and has instructed his Press Secretary on his decision....

From today's Press Briefing:

Q: What has been the President’s reaction to the death of Ken Lay?
SNOW: I really have not talked to him about it. I will give you my own personal reaction, which is that when somebody dies, you leave behind those that grieve, and I think that they deserve our compassion. But — I don’t know, what do you think would be the appropriate thing to say?

Q: I do not know. I don’t know him. The President was his friend, not me.
SNOW: No, the President has described Ken Lay as an acquaintance, and many of the President’s acquaintances have passed on during his time in office. Again, I think that it is sort of an interesting question but not answerable by me.

An acquaintance? Go to www.thesmokinggun.com and see more letters and exchanges between Bush and Lay who are far more than acquaintances and have been since the first Bush administration. Lay's Enron benefited and lobbied during Dubya's Guber days to deregulate Texas energy and thanks to Enron's GRANDFATHERING polution, Houston passes LA as the NASTIEST AIR TO SUCK DOWN YOUR NECK.
I doubt any cards and letter from Enron employees will stuff the boxes of this bastard's post office box. And how appropriate for this prick while awaiting sentencing to die in his vacation home in Aspen....while his ex-employees have lost their hard earned pensions..... I know the man is dead (supposedly, I think there needs to be a DNA test) but who really gives a fuck.
Wanna pay last respects to Kenny Boy? Go rent and watch "Fun with Dick and Jane" tonight.....

That Crazy GOP Gay Man Whore....

**don't you just love that "come hither Karl" stare....**

I just love/hate Jeff Gannon. He is my favorite scandal from the Bush administration. But when visiting his blog-o-nobody-cares, I read his rantings on Nancy Pelosi's comments on the Supreme Court's decision to axe Bush's military tribunals at Gitmo.
This is the part I loved best:
"Democratic cowardice aside, the arrogance and tyranny of an unelected and unaccountable judiciary is a threat to America's security."
Oh, snap!!! A perfectly hairless chest, tighty whities, and all that attitude!! I just can't control myself from jumping on him...but, since I am not man or republican....... *sigh*
Yeah, I think that way too Jeffers...especially when they decided the election in 2000. But back then, that "unelected and unaccountable judiciary" was democracy in action right???
I bet Gannon/Guckert spent a night or two on the Dukester....literally.....
